How the d-c-fix brand built up international direct sales via Amazon in 6 months

Problem

The d-c-fix brand belongs to the Continental Group and is therefore heavily influenced by the dealer business. There were effectively no direct sales channels to the end customer. At the same time, the pressure on retail margins continued to increase and distribution was barely diversified.

However, the brand noticed that more and more competitors were selling directly online without any detours. As e-commerce is growing continuously, market share would be lost. However, there was a lack of internal experience in online direct sales.

Goal

The direct sale of products via Amazon, the world's No. 1 product search engine, was to be launched as quickly as possible. It was important that there was no additional internal effort due to limited capacities.

The aim was to sell directly internationally, for which Amazon is the perfect platform. A secondary objective was to increase brand awareness through a strong brand presence and greater visibility, so that retailers would ultimately also benefit from this.

Solution

Within a few weeks, two Amazon seller accounts were set up simultaneously, one for Europe and one for North America. The sales-optimized product listings were then created for all European and North American Amazon marketplaces. The brand presence was rounded off with extended brand content (A+ content) and Amazon Brand Stores.

This laid a professional foundation and work began on creating country-specific Amazon advertising campaigns. The result was that the d-c-fix brand had Amazon presences with optimized product listings in Europe and North America within just 6 months and rapid sales increases were achieved thanks to the efficient advertising campaigns on Amazon. Within a very short space of time, a new sales channel was created as a second sales pillar to complement the core business.
