A modern online shop was to be created in line with current best practices. It was important that the relaunch be implemented as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Therefore, as few areas as possible should be customized with programming and, instead, standards should be used wherever possible. It was also important that the internal team be able to maintain the content independently, without needing a developer even for minor adjustments.
Easy content management via Shopify Customizer
Solution
Shopify, the most advanced and largest shop system worldwide, was used. The "Dawn" theme developed by Shopify was used as a basis and adapted where necessary to reduce development costs to a minimum. The JTL interface was used to connect the JTL merchandise management system, as this was to continue to be used in contrast to JTL Shop.
The internal team is able to intuitively and independently change all content, such as images, text, videos, or links, using the Shopify Customizer, a drag-and-drop user interface. New products, categories, or pages can also be easily created. Thanks to the lean approach, the project took only six weeks from kick-off to go-live. Sales multiplied in the first three months after the relaunch.
